OneWorld Connect Partner- Fiji Airways

  • For American Airlines, British Airways, Cathay Pacific and Qantas passengers/frequent flyer members, you can earn and redeem points on Fiji, earn elite status credits, priority check-in for OneWorld elite members, priority boarding for OneWorld elite members, check your bags through to your final destination, and access to lounges for elite members or premium cabin customers. (Those four airlines are the "Sponsors" of Fiji)
  • For all other airlines, you get priority check-in and boarding for OneWorld elite members.

Lounge Access: OneWorld has a lounge access tool which shows what level of OneWorld Elite Status you need to access the lounge.

OneWorld Award Space Rules and Tips

British Airways- British Airways' system is probably the best way to search OneWorld award space. You will need to create a free British Airways account. Their system will even tell you the number of award seats left for a certain flight when there are seven award seats or fewer. I do recommend searching each individual segment of the flight you want for the best results.

Qantas- Qantas is another good option for searching OneWorld award space. You will need to create an account and search on the main screen by checking the box "Use Points- Classic Flight Rewards only." The one good thing about Qantas is that you can check an entire month using "Flexible with dates" option. However, once you select a day, you cannot navigate to another day without going back to the calendar. I like how British Airways allows me to switch between days quickly. Additionally, Qantas may not have smaller airports in their system, so check British Airways' system when that happens.

OneWorld Elite Status

If you have any Elite Status with a OneWorld airline, you can see what your status translates into for OneWorld. For example, American Airlines Gold translates into OneWorld Ruby. OneWorld Emerald is very valuable because it allows you access to First Class lounges, but some of the extremely nice first class lounges are restricted to only first-class customers and not Emerald members. (E.g. Qatar's ultra luxurious Al Safwa Lounge)
